KAS, like the Indian Administrative Services, is a dynamic and strong position.
If you pass the KAS exam, you will be posted on duty to various departments of the Kerala Government as a 2nd Gazetted Officer rank.
In addition, the recruitment of KAS officials will cover vacant positions and act as a feeder service for IAS officers.
After clearing KAS you will be posted in high level government posts that are part of the Kerala administrative service including posts like Deputy collectors, District labour officers and District educational officers. The posts accessed through KAS are the highest posts in state government that you can enter directly through an exam, other than the UPSC civil service exams. Further you will be eligible to be conferred with the Indian administrative services after certain years of Service. Needless to say, success in KAS guarantees you prestige, power and a good lifestyle.
